Thank you Boise City Department of Arts and History for the opportunity to design artwork for a second traffic box located in downtown Boise! The piece I created is titled Tangled Grace, and it is located on the southeast corner of 17th and Idaho Street in West Downtown. Using cut paper silhouettes of flora found in the Boise Foothills, Tangled Grace explores shapes formed by contour lines on topographic maps and how they relate to physical forms found repeatedly in nature. Last month my artwork, Sun Kissed Hills, graced the cover of Boise Weekly! If you aren't familiar, each week Boise Weekly publishes original artwork by a local artist on its cover. One stipulation of publication is that the piece must be donated to Boise Weekly’s annual art auction in the fall.
