alexa rose foundation grantee

A future art making goal of mine is to create handmade paper using foliage and fibers foraged from the Boise foothills-- creating work that is "not only of, but from, the land." 🌿🌲⛰

Today, I am one step closer to that goal! I was awarded a grant from the The Alexa Rose Foundation to attend a two week long paper making workshop at Penland School of Craft in western North Carolina next summer, and I couldn't be more excited!

The Alexa Rose Foundation furthers the creative work of individual artists through grants, fellowships and space, strengthening the cultural environment of the Boise Valley.

This year, The Foundation received over 300 applications from across the Treasure Valley. 74 individuals were selected through a peer-review panel of fellow artists, educators and creative professionals in the community.

This is such an incredible opportunity for my professional development, and I can't wait to share the experience with you!

Check out the Alexa Rose Foundation website for a complete list of the 2019 Grant Recipients.
