Tanner settling in for the ride

The drive back to Boise from Medford, Oregon was remote and arduous to say the least but incredibly gorgeous. Driving through high mountain deserts dotted with sagebrush and dense, dark pine forests with snow-capped mountains in the distance, the change in terrain is unbelievable. There is nothing quite like being on the open road in a beautiful landscape with your best buddy by your side, even if that best buddy is a dog.

There is one stretch of Route 20 along the Malheur River that is particularly breathtaking, somewhere near Drewsey Junction and Juntura. For me, that is where the real, unique beauty begins.

When I returned home, I created this little diptych on canvas that was inspired by my journey. I hope you like it!
